One of the most beautiful beach tourism object that became the pride of
the town of Tanjung Pandan, is Tanjung Kelayang Beach. The beach is
located at a distance of about approximately 27 km from the city has a
very charming panorama tour. White sand that adorn the granite rocks
swept west coast forming an attractive appearance seaside atmosphere. In
addition, the pins right in front of the beach is also a collection of
giant granite landmark of this coastal region, namely Batu Garude. As
well as some stunning scenery which is a small island formed by huge
granite rocks located about 300 meters from the end of the beach, bataun
shape resembles the head of a bird. Therefore, this region is referred
to as the Tanjung Kelayang. Derived from the word Kelayang, which was
named one Kelayang bird species. Rock that resembles a bird's head is
sometimes referred to as the Stone Garuda. Tanjung Kelayang itself is
also a recreation center that regularly or periodically will be visited
by a variety of foreign yacht in the Sail Indonesia event.
